Control’s Top H1N1 Flu Prevention Tips

Here are the top five things the CDC recommends you should do to lower the risk of getting H1N1 or a seasonal flu: 1

  1. 1. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
  2. 2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  3. 3. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  4. 4. Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
  5. 5. If you are sick, stay home until you have been symptom-free for 24 hours.
